Decision leverage refers to the fact that some of our decisions have leverage over our own future decisions and should thus be treated with more weight. This is related to the intuitions behind timeless decision theory and trivial inconveniences. Having a good model of which of our decisions actually affect future decisions and which ones we only pretend do is very powerful.
